The EU-funded FRONTIER project kicked-off on 19 May 2021, bringing together 19 high-profile partners from all over Europe, namely Belgium, Cyprus, Greece, Luxembourg, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK, to empower a seamless transition to a new era in transport management. This consortium boasts a multidisciplinary team of academics, traffic and transport operators, local authorities, traffic management companies, intelligent transport systems and autonomous vehicle solutions. It will take up the challenge of providing the network and integrated traffic management strategies of the future, taking into account new types and modes of transport and automated vehicles, the minimization of pollution and capacity bottlenecks, the reduction of accidents, and the need to reduce the cost of mobility for all users (both citizens, public authorities and businesses).

STAR operates on a budget of EUR 5 million funded by the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme, and will run for 3 years. The kick-off meeting, held in a friendly atmosphere, identified the first steps towards the ambitious project target. 3 interactive and dynamic #workshops focusing on the work of the requirements and scalable architecture for future mobility network and #trafficmanagement took place during the #FRONTIER_eu kick-off meeting

The FRONTIER consortium is thrilled to have this interesting project launched! Stay tuned!!
